Matt Bero, also known as the “Moose-Maker,” is a designer, artist, and public art advocate based in Green Bay, WI. He graduated from NWTC with an Associate Degree in Design & Graphics and Digital Photography. As a Certified User Experience Analyst and Usability Analyst he brings a unique blend of human/user centered design principles and creativity to every project.
Habitually doodling since his toddler years, he continues to expand his many creative outlets. You can find his latest large scale work “Morty the Moose,” a 63-foot wide mural of a moose on Main Street in Green Bay’s Arts District.
His passion is helping to improve communities in creative ways. After completing "Morty the Moose," Matt felt that other creatives should have opportunities to contribute in a creative way too. It was then that a partnership between Look Up Art and the with the Millennial Trains Project was formed.
Look Up Art is dedicated to shedding light on how public art comes to life, creatively and logistically. In conjunction with Millennial Trains Project (MTP), Look Up Art took a multi-city approach to studying current art projects and even those coming to fruition; even looking at the influence art can have on a city and it's surrounding communities. The findings from this trip are being applied locally and turned into an educational resource that provides background information and insights on how to create and expand the presence of public art.
Most recently through Look Up Art, Matt created Catalyst Art Show. Catalyst was a fundraising experience unlike any other. Paintings, sculptures, live music, performance art, artistically prepared and displayed food, and interactive opportunities. Catalyst raised over $18,000 for Art on Main, a local public art program by Olde Main Street, Inc.
Matt was born and raised in the Bay of Green, where he currently rides and resides.
You can usually find him riding around downtown Green Bay on his blue Surly Pugsley with his office in his backpack on the way to a pizza place or coffees shop. Also, you should know, he has a healthy obsession with pizza.
