I am extremely grateful to have the opportunity to give back to the community I live and work in by contributing to an amazing vision for Main Street in Green Bay, WI. I wanted to accomplish something this year for Look Up Art, and this mural is it!

Identity / Photography
Stacks & Steeples is an original music series in Green Bay, WI at the Brown County Library. In an effort to reframe the perception of the library as well as showcase the newly remodeled auditorium, Stacks&Steeples was created. In the early 90's Green Bay was a hot spot for punk rock and live music, but since then the music scene has drifted elsewhere. Stacks&Steeples addresses the need for shows in a family-friendly way! Stage props constructed by ProtoGB.
Green Bay's landscape is fairly flat. If you happen to reach a high point you'll find at least one, if not multiple, smoke stacks or church steeples in your view. For this reason, the iconography throughout the 2017 series referenced local structures. It's easy to get discouraged during the winter months in Wisconsin when "there's nothing to do." Inspired by by that lack of things to do, the gig posters designed for each show used elements of musical instruments as well as outdoor recreation as friendly way to remind folks that we have a lot to be grateful for here.
Bringing "aloha" to the Midwest! Heavily influenced by the landscape of the Northwoods and surf culture, the brand for Northern Tide Tattoo was in need of an identity to go engage and align with the following of Micah Gunderson.
